Reclaimed Floor Lamp: Finalist of the Ki-LIFE Sustainable Award

Our Reclaimed Floor Lamp is a masterpiece of circular design, crafted from Egyptian railway sleepers over 200 years old. Our goal was to take a material that had reached the end of its journey and transform it into high-end, functional art. Every crack and mark on the wood is honored, preserved as a testament to its long history. We chose to work with these ancient beams because they carry a story, turning forgotten waste into a piece with soul.

Being named a finalist for the Ki-LIFE Sustainable Award is a significant honor because it recognizes our commitment to the planet. Our team viewed waste as an opportunity for innovation, ensuring this valuable wood was repurposed rather than scrapped. By utilizing existing resources, we reduced the carbon footprint and bypassed the waste of typical recycling. We poured our hearts into every detail to ensure that history and modern aesthetics could live together.

Today, this lamp is more than just a lighting unit; it is a statement on how we should consume. It proves that when you design with respect for the environment and the past, the result is something that lasts for generations. At Tektōn, we don’t just create furniture; we create pieces that tell a story of sustainability and survival.
