The Sink That Started It All

Seven years ago, we were renovating a small corner of our old factory turning it into a modest office and display space to welcome clients. We wanted the space to feel thoughtful and well-designed, even the guest bathroom.

But halfway through the build, we hit a wall financially.

We couldn’t afford to buy a proper sink.
And that’s when the idea hit: what if we made our own… from wood?

At the time, it sounded like a temporary fix. We found an old wood trunk, carved it with inspiration from photos we’d seen online, and after days of effort... it didn’t work. It leaked. It cracked. It looked nothing like what we imagined.

Then came a turning point.

Joe and Akram, standing in the workshop, took a clean wooden board and started sketching. The sketch became a plan. The plan became a prototype. The prototype became our very first functional wooden sink.

It wasn’t just beautiful it worked.
We sealed it to be 100% waterproof and installed it in the bathroom. And every client who visited our space noticed it. Admired it. Asked for one.

That wasn’t just a design solution,It was the birth of a product that would become one of Tekton’s heroes.

Since that moment, we’ve crafted dozens of custom sinks for homes, boutique hotels, cafes, and commercial spaces. And yes, that very first sink? We’re still using it in our factory to this day.

Why Solid Wood?

Because we believe materials tell stories.
They hold texture, soul, and memory.

Unlike cold ceramic or steel, wood adds warmth and character to everyday spaces  even bathrooms and kitchens. Each of our sinks is crafted from dense hardwood, chosen for its natural durability, sculpted and sealed to be fully functional, waterproof, and long-lasting.

More than a fixture, it becomes a centerpiece. A conversation starter.

All of our wooden sinks are made right here in Egypt from responsibly sourced or reclaimed wood blending modern techniques with traditional craftsmanship. No two pieces are ever the same, and we like it that way.
